Printemps Pottery

Printemps Pottery is just the two of us, Nevan and Doug Wise. We are full time studio potters who work out of our basement at our home on Maidstone Farm in Annapolis Maryland.

We do not have a showroom at our house but every Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm we can be found displaying and selling our work at The Eastern Market in D.C. at 7th and Pennsylvania.

On Saturdays we have an additional display at the Riva Road Farmers Market in Annapolis  April thru December 7am to noon

 On Sundays we are also at the Baltimore Farmers Market under the JFX in downtown Baltimore! Wow we are busy!!

Doug's Background

Doug started making pottery in 2008 after his friend Nancy convinced him it would be fun to take Nevan's class at Maryland Hall with her. (Doug and Nevan were already married at the time.)

He took to it like a fish to water and soon all the other students were calling him teachers pet...which he was of course.

He soon decided to focus on mugs, Doug's Mugs, and is now throwing almost all of the mugs at the Printemps Pottery studio as well as many of our other signature pieces.

Doug is also an accomplished photographer who specializes in wildlife images, we may have some of his pictures on display at the Eastern Market in D.C. come see us!

Nevan's Background

 Nevan got her start making pottery in college at Southern Illinois University in 1998. She has a BFA in ceramics. As a student Nevan was lucky to land a job in the Craft Shop at SIU as a pottery room worker and in her second semester of wheel classes was able to teach wheel throwing to other students and members of the Carbondale community. After college Nevan moved to Baltimore and began teaching a few classes at Baltimore Clayworks which eventually led her to a job as manager of a production studio in Annapolis. After learning a lot about production Nevan went back to teaching for Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis. Now Nevan works exclusively in her home studio where all of the Printemps Pottery is created
